Tucson Choir Boys

Acoustic Rockabilly, Roots and the Blues

tcb_bw_webjpg-1

Dedicated to the art of the guitar and honest music, the Tucson Choir Boys perform acoustic Rockabilly, Roots and the Blues. Featuring Dave the Cat on lead guitar & lead vocals and Sameday Ray on rhythm guitar & backing vocals, they cover the music of traditional luminaries of the genre (such as Eddy Cochrane, Carl Perkins, Hank Williams, Mississippi John Hurt and Johnny Cash,) while their original repertoire respects the formula that made the music of this era great.

Formed as a side project by two members of Canada’s premiere Zydeco band, (
Loco Zydeco,) the lead guitar wizardry of Dave the Cat and rock solid rhythm guitar of Sameday Ray have been wowing audiences across Ontario at festivals, special events and clubs since 2004. Mostly performing as a duo, they are often joined on stage by fellow Loco Zydeco members Les Graham (upright bassist) and K.K. Walsh (rubboard/percussion) or Kitchener-based acoustic guitar master Robert Reid.

In 2008, TCB joined forces with fellow flamingcheese records label- mate and Canadian Blues legend Cheryl Lescom. In 2009, with Cheryl, they released their Sameday Ray-produced and Les Graham-engineered debut album, Cheryl Lescom & the Tucson Choir Boys, a critically acclaimed blend of acoustic Blues, Roots and Pop.
